Choosing a Wallet

Alephium offers several non-custodial wallet options for managing ALPH and using DeFi. This includes Alephium's own Mobile, Desktop and Extension wallets, as well as third-party software and hardware wallets.

Alephium Wallets​

Alephium provides its own Mobile, Desktop and Browser Extension wallets.

Mobile Wallet​

The Alephium Mobile Wallet is available on iOS and Android and is designed for everyday use.

The following are well-known wallet projects with active Alephium support. They are listed for informational purposes, not as an endorsement, and the list is not exhaustive. Always verify the official website or app before installing, as phishing copies of legitimate wallets can look very similar to the real thing.

Hot / Cold Wallet Pattern​

A common security practice is to use different wallets for different purposes:

  • A hot wallet is a software wallet connected to the internet, including mobile, desktop and browser extension wallets. It is useful for everyday activities like swapping, staking and interacting with DeFi applications. Keep only the amount you need for these activities.

  • A cold wallet uses a hardware device to keep your private keys offline. It is suited to holding larger amounts that you do not need to access regularly.

Keeping your everyday DeFi funds in a hot wallet and your longer-term holdings in a cold wallet can help limit your exposure when interacting with DeFi applications.

Stay Safe​

Never share your seed phrase or private keys. Be cautious of phishing attempts and always make sure you are using the official wallet or dApp before connecting your wallet or signing a transaction.
